The charm obviously returned overnight, because as soon as I got out of the tent in the morning, I was accosted by two women thrusting fruit into my hands.
I also ended up with a home made dehydrated meal - she wasn't sure if it was moose or beef bolognaise. Tremendous stuff.
Arriving in Kitwanga
I got away at 08.45, and the next ten hours and 155 kms, although hard work at times, was enjoyable. I glided down into Kitwanga at the end of it all, to discover that their Centennial Park allows people to camp for free up to three nights.
In addition, it was ideally located next to the grocery store. So that's the Cassiar Highway complete, and the next stage now is to get to Prince George.
