If you've made your way from Athens to Milos and are looking for an island to hop to next, Folegandros is an excellent choice.
In a similar way to Milos, Folegandros could be considered top of tier 2 in the Cyclades islands - Not over touristy, but enough infrastructure to make people happy.

Blue Star Ferries and Zante Ferries have offered cheaper fares in the seasons when they run the crossing. These ferry companies operate larger conventional ferries which are slower. The very slowest crossing taking 2 hours and 40 minutes.
